also, there were baby owls out near the indian caves in kankakee. this photo was taken through our binoculars! just to be silly, we typically pronounce "binoculars" in the british way (buh-nock-lee-urs). when our friends were here from london, it was awkward because we kept pronouncing it their way and I thought they would think we were making fun (which we were but not of them, specifically- of their whole people). really, though, I don't think they noticed.

And we're still laughing about how the Americans spell Guilford, like there isn't supposed to be a 'd' right in the middle of the word...

actually, i don't know if the brits pronounce binoculars that way or not.
i do know that ade edmondson pronounced it that way in an episode of tyo.
al-oom-in-ee-um on the other hand...
